Dan McPherson serves as Pastor
of Care Giving after 30 years of serving in the ministry. He
comes to Midway after serving as Senior Pastor at First
Baptist Church in Sandersville, GA. He provides overall
guidance and a personal presence to the various care giving
efforts of Midway. Many people meet Dan for the first time
when they find themselves in the hospital for various
procedures or the Discipleship class he teaches on Wednesday
evenings. Dan has often been described as compassionate and
humorous as well as an encourager to others.
Dan is a native of Bremen,
Georgia where he graduated from Bremen High School in 1971.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
West Georgia in 1975. In 1979, Dan earned a Masters of
Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. His hobbies include
reading, computers, college (UGA) and high school football
as well as spending time with his family.
Dan married Jan Walker from
Carrollton, Georgia in 1973. Jan is a Mentor Teacher at
Carrollton Elementary School in collaboration with the
University of West Georgia. They have two children-a son Jim and a daughter Rebekah. |
